A number of SHS students and parents participated in the Kiwanis Santa Fun Run on Saturday, December 8. Students participating were third-grader Ethan Cave, seventh-grader Liam Cave, eighth-grader Collin Sarrazin, sixth-grader

REYNAUD PARTICIPATES IN ART CONTEST
Fifth grade student Emily Reynaud participated in The 7th Annual City of New Orleans Employee Art Exhibition and Competition in December. Emily was eligible to enter because her aunt works for the New Orleans Police Department.

Congratulations to Sr. Adelaide Williamson, CSJ, as she celebrates her 50th Jubilee as a Sister of St. Joseph. We extended our gratitude for her love, her faith and her commitment to serve the Lord and the "dear neighbor."

KEMPER WINS ART AWARD
Sixth-grader Mack Kemper was honored as the first recipient of the Clyde Lee Harrelson Middle School Art Talent Recognition Award. The award as presented at the Kiwanis Pancake Festival at LSU on Saturday, October 20. Mr. Harrelson was a long-time educator in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System and a member of the Downtown Kiwanis Art Committee. He dedicated 33 years of his life to educating young people during their formative years in middle school. He was active in many cultural, historic and civic organizations; the hundreds of students who were the beneficiaries of his friendship, knowledge and mutual respect will remember him fondly. He believed that all students deserved the best that education could provide - regardless of their socio-economic level, race or abilities. The Downtown Kiwanis Club proudly established this award to honor Harrelson earlier this year.
FACULTY MEMBERS HONORED
SHS fifth grade teacher Elizabeth Robertson and P.E. teacher Penny Jackson were honored at a faculty baby shower on Friday, November 9. Both babies are expected in January.
FACULTY MEMBERS HONORED
SHS athletic director Cornell Christophe and fifth grade teacher Kacey Oldendorf, both engaged to be married in November, were honored at a school shower on Wednesday, October 30. Kacey will marry Andrew Ashworth and Cornell will marry Kytara Gaudin in November.
SCOUTS EARN RELIGIOUS EMBLEM
Congratulations to the Sacred Heart Girl & Cub Scouts who earned Religious Emblems and received them in a ceremony with Bishop Muench on Sunday, August 26. They are Julia Akin, Phoenix Beauvais, Anna Bowden, Caroline Buras, Torrie Cook, Tori Crockett, Caroline Dolese, Samantha Heston, Danielle JOnes, Ciera Malbrue, Kate Mascari, Josie Musso, Alyssa Romero, Desirée Jones, Clark Chustz, Camden Holmes, Nicholas Noel and Jackson Rimes.

To qualify, students must score at or above 95% on one or more Terra Nova subtests.
