REGIONAL SCIENCE FAIR
Congratulations to SHS seventh-graders Lance Ourso, Josh Pickell and Matthew Crapanzano who competed in the Regional Science Fair at LSU on February 27. Lance placed first in the Engineering Division and will compete in the state science fair this month. Josh placed second in the Botany Division. Great job gentlemen!

Congratulations to the 8th grade CSAL boys' basketball team for making it to the championship game of the CHS Elite Eight Tournament! The Tigers were defeated by Our Lady of Mercy in a hard-fought final.

Congratulations to the 7th Grade CSAL boys' basketball team on winning the St. Michael Invitational Tournament on February 28. The boys defeated St. Jude and St. George to bring home the championship trophy! The team ended the season with a perfect 28-0 record. They won every tournament they entered!
QUIZ BOWL
Congratulations to the SHS fifth- and sixth-grade Quiz Bowl team which placed second at the Diocesan Quiz Bowl Tournament on Saturday, February 27. The team lost by only one point in the finals to St. Thomas More. Outstanding!
7TH GRADE CSAL BOYS' BASKETBALL
Congratulations to the 7th grade CSAL boys' basketball team on winning their third tournament and remaining undefeated as of February 1. The team has placed first at Holy Family, St. George and St. Thomas More.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS FREE THROW CONTEST
SHS winners in the Knights of Columbus 3298 Free Throw Contest are Tory LaCour (10-year-olds); Louis Mouk and Natalie Johnson (11-year-olds); Tyler Hatch and Aleah Harris (12-year-olds); Zachary Johnson and Chloe Boudreaux (13-year-olds); Christopher Bordelon and Cami Kolniak (14-year-olds). The students now move to district competition.
NICARAGUA MISSIONS
SHS students and families raised $1,000 during December to assist the work of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Nicaragua Missions.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS POSTER CONTEST
Congratulations to the three SHS students who won first place in the Knights of Columbus 3298 poster contest: Kathryn Meyers (12 - 14), Alcohol/Drug Awareness and Abuse; Aleah Harris (8 - 11), Alcohol Awareness and Abuse; and Claire Doucet (8 - 11), Drug Awareness and Abuse. The posters are now competing in area competition.
JR. HIGH WALK FOR DIABETES
Junior high students hit the pavement to stamp out diabetes on Monday, November 2, for the annual Walk for Diabetes. Students enjoyed an extra day of Halloween with the weather-delayed walk as they raised $2,703 for the American Diabetes Association!
KINDERGARTEN TRIKE-A-THON
Sacred Heart of Jesus School kindergartners put the pedal to the metal on Thursday, October 29, and raised $3,087 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
