Parent FAQ's

COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION

  • How does the school communicate? The school communicates via text, email, and social media. There is also a weekly newsletter "The Tuesday Newsletter" that is emailed weekly. 
  • What is FACTS? FACTS is the online school system for items such as the directory, grades, homework, and resources.

VOLUNTEERING AND PARENT INVOLVEMENT

  • What are the volunteer requirements? Any adult (18+) volunteering, attending field trips, or having lunch on campus must complete required clearance steps (including a background check) and sign the Code of Ethics Acknowledgement Form. Processing can take several weeks.
  • What are PIP hours? PIP stands for Parent Involvement Program: each family completes 20 volunteer hours per school year. Opportunities are coordinated by Home & School (often via SignUpGenius) sent via email or listed in the Tuesday Newsletter.


CAFETERIA AND LUNCH VISITS

  • Can parents eat lunch with their child? Yes, cleared volunteers may join. Parents must check in at the office first. Adult lunches (if purchasing) are paid by check. Outside food must be in non-branded containers (no fast-food packaging or branded drinks).
  • Where can I see the cafeteria menu? In the Tuesday Newsletter and on the school website.


EVENTS AND TRADITIONS

  • What events can parents attend? Weekly Mass and school-wide events listed on the school calendar &Tuesday newsletter. Grade-level events and field trips are shared by teachers/room parents. Examples: Fall Fest (fall), Christmas Singalong (Dec); ELC: Trunk or Treat (Oct), Splash Day (May).
  • What is Fall Fest? Fall Fest is a full-day fall event with games, activities, and food staffed by parents. The theme changes yearly; student t-shirts and tickets are covered in fees.


ATHLETICS

  • What are biddy sports? Biddy sports are intramural teams for PreK-3 through 2nd grade (flag football, cross country, soccer, basketball, baseball, cheerleading). Additional fees apply.
  • What other sports are offered? Girls and boys basketball, track, cross country, volleyball, football, cheer, and baseball are offered to students in grades 4-8.


PARENT GROUPS AND SCHOOL LEADERSHIP

  • What is Home & School? Home & School is a parent volunteer board supporting student/teacher activities (including room parents and Teacher Appreciation Week). They coordinate major fundraisers (spring auction; fall wrapping paper sale) and many PIP-hour opportunities.
  • What is the Advisory Board? The Advisory board consists of parents (elected/appointed) who support and advise the pastor and principal on school administration and planning; members are listed on the school website. Elections are held yearly for new members.
